Photograph: to write with light

The first month of ’09 is almost gone, and my blogging skills have not been honed as planned. It’s time to share some sessions! I’m still trying to liberate my photos from my old computer, so we’ll see how this goes.

Mom and daughter, sundrenched
This blinding winter afternoon was perfect for experimenting with sun flare. The daughter shared her gorgeous smile throughout my clickfest, but I love her pensive look in this shot. To escape the glorious sun and prevent squinting subjects, we set the group up on the shady side of the bridge for the shot below.

Fab Four
The clear light reflecting off the water was fantastic, and the colors deepened as we finished up. Sibling shots can be so much fun, and these two teens sure seem to enjoy each other’s company.

Family Ties
The old bridge jutting out into the marsh made for a great location, but to bring this full circle, I’ll share one more mom/daughter favorite.

Home is where the heart is
And I almost forgot about these precious pooches!

The Kids with Their Kids
Barefoot in November

It’s so wonderful to live close to the beach. It can really help me get my bearings when I stand on the edge of the continent listening to the ocean. And of course, it’s a great spot for family photos!

Big Smiles and Breezy Toes
At this session, Mom was a bit worried her boys would be too wild to capture on film. But kids are kids, so I encouraged them to sprint a bit knowing they could catch their breath during a family shot. Running shots can be fun, and they really capture these boys in all their zaniness.

Full Steam Ahead
I love their genuine grins here, and isn’t it sweet how the older one is holding the little guy’s feet?

Brothers
Here’s another one that really captures the brothers’ playfulness — all while Mom & Dad have a chuckle.

A Dusting of Sand
And a classic family beach scene.

It's a Wrap!
