Faceless Friday #29 | Top of the Rock

Posted on October 14, 2011

Last weekend, I took my seven-year-old daughter on a memory-making adventure in New York City. It was her first plane trip (unless you count a couple of short hops on Vintage Air from Jacksonville, Florida to the Abacos when she was ten months old). In fact, it was a weekend of firsts (taxi, subway, pedicab, Broadway show) and utter disregard for veggie counts and bedtimes.

I took today’s Faceless Friday feature after an elevator whisked us to the 67th floor of Rockefeller Center for breathtaking 360-degree views. We timed it perfectly: I purchased our tickets in advance for the slot twenty minutes prior to sunset. We saw the whole city in daylight as it transformed into a pristine autumn evening. It’s crowded up there, but don’t let that stop you. The view is well worth it, the staff is very efficient (they move 20,000 people to this rooftop on an average day) and everyone is pretty good about sharing a people-free spot with their neighbor. A definite highlight of our trip! Get to the Top of the Rock, y’all. That’s the Empire State Building on the left.

Faceless Friday #10 | Catch of the Day

Posted on March 11, 2011

This adorable couple is counting the weeks until their DeBordieu wedding. And so am I! During their engagement session (check it out here), we ambled by the clubhouse where they will wed and along the pristine beach before hopping over to the Georgetown Marina. It just so happens Liz’s dad has a gorgeous fishing boat named “Tie the Knot,” so it was the perfect spot for taking in the day’s last glow.

One of the reason I’m drawn to “faceless” photos is because I think it makes it easier for the viewer to envision stepping right into the scene. Which yacht is yours? Climb aboard, and happy weekend!

Bon Anniversaire, Caroline!

Posted on December 2, 2010

The chilliest morning of the season is the perfect time to catch up on some blogging and share this warm and sunny session. Caroline, the brunette, is oh-so-French — effortlessly chic and delightfully spontaneous. She called on me when she planned a beach jaunt with three of her dear friends, all of whom were celebrating birthdays the same weekend. A bit of bubbly on the beach — what a perfect way to ring in a new decade!

In hopes some of her joie de vie will rub off on me, I may opt for the French pronunciation of my biz name from this point forward:
