Faceless Friday #10 | Catch of the Day

Posted on March 11, 2011

This adorable couple is counting the weeks until their DeBordieu wedding. And so am I! During their engagement session (check it out here), we ambled by the clubhouse where they will wed and along the pristine beach before hopping over to the Georgetown Marina. It just so happens Liz’s dad has a gorgeous fishing boat named “Tie the Knot,” so it was the perfect spot for taking in the day’s last glow.

One of the reason I’m drawn to “faceless” photos is because I think it makes it easier for the viewer to envision stepping right into the scene. Which yacht is yours? Climb aboard, and happy weekend!

Liz & Andrew | Tie the Knot

I’ve fallen behind on the blog, so this is the week to catch up! I’ll start with this gorgeous couple, Liz and Andrew. We braved ravenous mosquitoes in a slow golf cart to catch afternoon light at several spots in DeBordieu and a nearby marina, where Liz’s dad and brother had their boat ready for us. As I type, these two are having fun at her high school reunion before heading back to NYC where strapless cotton dresses and flops will be traded for sweater weather and colorful foliage. Congrats to this delightful couple! The April affair is sure to be perfect.

Suzanne & Pat {Engagement}

Posted on August 31, 2010

Pat is a huge baseball fan, so we were a little bummed when we could not work out getting onto USC’s new field to snap a few engagement shots at the home of the College World Series champs. But it was fitting I had a double-header photo session on this unbelievably steamy day. Suzanne’s bridal session was absolutely divine, but of course, I can’t spoil the surprise of how lovely she’ll be on her upcoming wedding day. After she traded her gown for a short, fun dress, her fiance arrived at their wedding site. The light is so beautiful there, so all we can hope is for a repeat on wedding day — minus about 20 degrees.

I am so completely happy that this couple has found each other. Can’t wait to photograph the wedding!
