Faceless Friday #32 | First Day of Winter
Posted on December 23, 2011
Yesterday was the first day of winter, but instead of donning sweaters and scarves and sipping cocoa, we hopped in the car and made a quick jaunt to the beach to run barefoot and make sand angels. Even though we have plenty of mild winter days in Charleston, this was unusually toasty — almost 80 degrees! Hope the end of your year includes some relaxation, warm breezes and some spontaneous amusement.

Oh, I just love this frame. Love the light, the lace, the gorgeous horse, the Virginia hills, and this bride. Happy Friday to all, and to all a grand December!

Faceless Friday #30 | Jeepers, Creepers, Ubercute Leaf Peepers
Posted on October 21, 2011
With evening temperatures dipping into the 40s, it seems fall has finally arrived. Fortunately, there’s a nearby green space where the browning sycamore leaves made it look like fall, even when it was still steamy. Loved this session with these adorable sisters sporting their funkytwirly Matilda Jane ensembles! A full post including their precious baby brother and handsome parents is coming soon.

Faceless Friday #29 | Top of the Rock
Posted on October 14, 2011
Last weekend, I took my seven-year-old daughter on a memory-making adventure in New York City. It was her first plane trip (unless you count a couple of short hops on Vintage Air from Jacksonville, Florida to the Abacos when she was ten months old). In fact, it was a weekend of firsts (taxi, subway, pedicab, Broadway show) and utter disregard for veggie counts and bedtimes.
I took today’s Faceless Friday feature after an elevator whisked us to the 67th floor of Rockefeller Center for breathtaking 360-degree views. We timed it perfectly: I purchased our tickets in advance for the slot twenty minutes prior to sunset. We saw the whole city in daylight as it transformed into a pristine autumn evening. It’s crowded up there, but don’t let that stop you. The view is well worth it, the staff is very efficient (they move 20,000 people to this rooftop on an average day) and everyone is pretty good about sharing a people-free spot with their neighbor. A definite highlight of our trip! Get to the Top of the Rock, y’all. That’s the Empire State Building on the left.
Faceless Friday #28 | Happy Hour Chesapeake Style
Posted on September 30, 2011
It’s still Friday, so I can post this even though everyone is done killing time in front of computers for the day. It’s happy hour! Time to kick off the weekend, and I hear fall weather is really and truly just around the corner. (Please?)
Speaking of good times, here’s a glimpse of Vanessa and Rob, kicking off their married life with a little happy hour Chesapeake style. They wed on the lawn beneath a threatening sky at Love Point at Kent Island, and while guests were enjoying cocktail hour, the dynamic duo stole a moment to soak in their wedded bliss. They were really just getting psyched about dinner and some QT on the dance floor with guests two and up. Let me just say, these two did NOT need more cowbell, and their on-stage chemistry reminded me of Sonny and Cher back in the good ol’ days. Way back before politics and that Dancing With the Stars craziness. Many happy returns, y’all!
