Anna | Boone Hall Bridal Portraits

Posted on April 15, 2013

So this is Anna. In addition to being a statuesque and poised bride, she is a beautiful person. On her wedding day, when I arrived to photograph the girls getting ready, she was curling her cousin’s hair. She is strong, calming and giving. Nathan is a lucky man. Happy honeymooning, y’all!

Erica | Lowndes Grove Bridal Portrait

Posted on November 15, 2012

I love Lowndes Grove. I married my husband on this lawn by the Ashley River in 1999. President Teddy Roosevelt visited during the six-month world’s fair, or Charleston Exposition, which covered the Hampton Park area back in early 1902. Like many Lowcountry spots, it is both breathtaking and historic, making it the perfect place to put on a gown and twirl about like you own the place. Erica, who married Daniel at the Citadel Beach House last month, did just that.

Charleston Bridal Portraits | Ashley

Posted on June 23, 2012

Ashley married Will in Charlotte last weekend, but she traveled to Charleston for their December engagement session and to shop for the perfect wedding dress at the Gown Boutique. She made a final trip to shoot bridal portraits. Although a stormy week made us change our venue from a potentially muddy plantation, we were fortunate that her aunt in Rivertowne had a friend with a lovely home on the water. We managed to avoid rain and take in lots of scenic views and Wando River breezes.

Oh, and since she didn’t bring a bouquet on the jaunt from North Carolina, I picked up a single glorious hydrangea at Whole Foods for her to have during the portrait session. The touches of pink on the bloom provide just a hint of what her wedding reception was like, so stay tuned!

I’m so pleased to have this special at-home bridal portrait session featured on Glamour and Grace today! Getting to know Vanessa and her family last year was a definite highlight for me. She is part of such a fun and gracious clan. I hope you’ll take a look and comment on Megan’s beautiful collection of wedding elegance. It’s like a breath of fresh air.

Kiawah Bridal Portraits | Ashley, The Sanctuary at Kiawah

Posted on May 7, 2012

Nothing like photographing a beautiful blushing bride at a lush five-star resort with sea breezes and lawns like putting greens. Ashley’s elegant gown is by Martina Liana — it’s actually a one-of-a-kind design she fell for at a trunk show in Charlotte. I love how it had a little of everything — sparkle, lace and a breezy organza overlay. Beautiful!
