So the weekend was a bit of a blur. Lots of happy, handsome clients and a hat trick involving the Citadel. Here’s a quick preview of my Citadel weekend.
Friday afternoon, I spent some time with the Watson family for a backyard session. I photographed their clan last year on Folly Beach, and I’ve photographed one of their families in other years — it’s always so fun to see how fast the little ones grow! Two of the Watson men are Citadel alums — might there be future Citadel bulldogs in this gorgeous group?
Saturday, I spent the day with Erica and Daniel, shooting their fun seaside wedding at the Citadel Beach House. The weather was absolutely perfect, and I am sure Daniel was grateful for breezes cool enough to justify wedding day finery.
Sunday afternoon I toted the tots downtown to wander King Street, which is closed to cars once monthly on Second Sunday. It’s like a street festival with cafes spilling out in the street while street musicians pluck banjos, and yip-yip dogs mingle with labradoodles and Great Danes. After a colorful sugar fix at Robot Candy, we hopped back over to Mt Pleasant, and I grabbed my equipment for an Isle of Palms session with a crew of 18.
This isn’t just any festive extended clan. They are a group of dear family friends we grew up with in Atlanta. They were in town to visit the eldest grandson, who is a sophomore at the Citadel. They decided to make a mini reunion out of it when Citadel was playing Western Carolina since there are some WCU fans among the bunch. Several weeks ago, I emailed my friends my blog post about embracing color for beach photos. Not only had they already seen it, they were on the case assembling blues and greens that were in the eldest granddaughter’s floral frock. Don’t they look fantastic?
Contact Jen to discuss your family portrait session or wedding photography needs. And I hope you’ll click “like” if you enjoy colorful, relaxed photography — it helps me spread the word to locals and to Charleston visitors.
