Summerall Chapel Wedding | Second-Shooting
Posted on December 28, 2011
After shooting a couple of my own weddings in November (posts coming soon!), I had the opportunity to work with fun and talented Paige Winn. We had a great day documenting the festivities for Katie and James. We started at Stella Nova on King Street, headed uptown to the Francis Marion for the bride to don her gown and then moved on to Summerall Chapel wedding on the Citadel campus. I headed to the cocktail hour at the Old Exchange Building and Paige hopped in the limo with the newlyweds. Darkness fell early, so their spontaneous stop at the candy shop made for some colorful and fantastic portraits. Check them out here, and enjoy the full wedding post. Thanks for having me along, Paige! The gorgeous pink and gray reception and elegant dinner were styled by Southern Protocol.

As James reminisced about his days at the Citadel, he had a good laugh showing his buddies an escape route.

Instead of tossing her bouquet, Katie presented it to her tearful mom. Such sweetness!

Are you newly engaged, or do you know someone who is? I’d love to meet and see if we are a good fit. I shoot weddings and portraits throughout the Carolinas. Contact Jen to get acquainted and learn about my session and package pricing.
Faceless Friday #32 | First Day of Winter
Posted on December 23, 2011
Yesterday was the first day of winter, but instead of donning sweaters and scarves and sipping cocoa, we hopped in the car and made a quick jaunt to the beach to run barefoot and make sand angels. Even though we have plenty of mild winter days in Charleston, this was unusually toasty — almost 80 degrees! Hope the end of your year includes some relaxation, warm breezes and some spontaneous amusement.

Ashley & Will | Charleston Engagement
Posted on December 17, 2011
These images of a June bride and her fiance may just be my last official photo gig of 2011. A Charleston engagement session is a fun way to wrap up a wonderful year! It was a gorgeous “winter” day, about 65 degrees and perfect. This couple made the jaunt from Charlotte, and we had a great time wandering the historic district while everything is decked out for Christmas. Congratulations, you two!
Fun, colorful, easy, memorable. Contact Jen to book a portrait session or wedding package.
Free Parking Voucher | Holiday Magic in Historic Charleston
Posted on December 17, 2011
The kids wrapped up their last school day of 2011, and it’s time to finish some shopping, check out the tree at Marion Square, take a look at the amazing train display in Charleston Place and redeem my Groupon for a carriage tour with the family. I am printing out one of these vouchers for my downtown engagement session this afternoon, and I wanted to share it. I always look forward to this little treat from the city — park free for your first two hours (one voucher per visit). It is good through December 31, and you can confirm the participating garages when you download the free parking voucher. Happy shopping, dining, ambling in our fair city, which glows even more brightly each December.
Contact Jen to schedule a fun portrait session in the great outdoors or to learn more about wedding photography offerings. Cheers!
